Freshly added to the Transcription repository is another Gary Smulyan solo. This time on the classic blues “Tenor Madness“. This comes from a live recording with tenor saxophonist Ralph Moore. Joseph Trahan is to thank for sending this one over. Head on over and take a look!
We have another Pepper Adams transcription in the repository thanks to Bastian Contreras! This solo is on the song “Tensions” from Charles Mingus’ album ‘Blues and Roots’, very much a classic album. Head over the transcription page to check it out!
Thanks to Anthony Pellegrini we have another Cecil Payne transcription posted! This one is from a Kenny Dorham album, Afro Cuban, and I personally think this is some of Cecil’s best playing!
We now have over 100 transcriptions on the transcription page, so thank you so much to everyone who has submitted and continues to send them in! We have over 60,000 downloads so far, that’s a lot of JazzBariSax out there.

Thanks to Andrea Iurianello, we have a new Ronnie Cuber Transcription in the repository. This solo is on the classic standard, “Bye Bye Blackbird”. Very nice solo with a somewhat relaxed vibe from Ronnie playing with a great band.
Below you can check out a video of the transcription author playing the solo, or head on over to the Transcription Page to download a copy for yourself.

It took longer than it perhaps should of, but with the new addition from Maximiliano D.L. we now have a Harry Carney solo transcription in the repository. Since Harry almost universally agreed to be the father of modern jazz baritone saxophone, i’d suggest everyone check it out! Its from a beautiful album where Harry got some much deserved solo time with strings.
Head on over to the transcriptions page to check it out!
Thanks to Fred Koch, you will find a new Cecil Payne transcription in the repository. This one on a blues called “Bringing Up Father”. Head on over and give it a whirl,
